Overview of Broad Market Support and
Support Monitoring for March 2010

As information from financial data releases and other business news enters the marketplace, the actions being taken and assertions being expressed by investors and market influencers can change impacting not only stock prices but also broad market support.

From our Info-Impact market monitoring perspective, market participants' actions and assertions have five stages of impact on broad market support which together, we call the Info-Impact Factor. Following are the impact stages preceded by their identifying factor number: 5, rather positive; 4, somewhat positive; 3, rather mixed positive and negative; 2, somewhat negative and 1, rather negative.

Impact of market participants' actions and assertions on broad market support as of the end of February from our perspective was rather positive, Info-Impact Factor 5. Referencing S&P 500 data point levels, the following Info-Impact Baselines provide insight into broad market support from our perspective as fresh information enters the marketplace during March.

(Where closing data point for the month falls within the baseline scale establishes factor for the month. While the factor may or may not change, next month's baselines may change. The overview is updated the first of each month.)

Info-Impact Factor as of the end of each month for current and prior three years is published below for your review. An underscored 5 or 1 factor denotes that market participants' actions and assertions had additional positive or negative impact that month, respectively.

From our perspective, when the factor becomes 5 for the first time since being at 1, it is an indication that market participants’ actions and assertions have transitioned into a more or less positive Info-Impact phase. Conversely when the factor becomes 1 for the first time since being at 5, it is an indication that market participants’ actions and assertions have transitioned into a more or less negative Info-Impact phase.

While reviewing past results is important aspect to gaining an understanding of the perspective a process provides, it is also important to keep in mind past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
